MIDDAY BEARINGS 069: RUN YOUR PORTION

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 069

SCRIPTURE

“Let’s lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus.”

Hebrews 12:1–2

DEVOTIONAL

The race set before you is not the race set before someone else.

Comparison makes us borrow another person’s pace, calling, resources, or visible progress. Soon we are exhausted by a course God did not ask us to run.

Return to your portion. What is the faithful work of this hour? Run it with perseverance, not spectacle. Looking to Jesus frees you from constantly checking the lanes beside you.

Your course becomes clearer when comparison loses your attention.

INSIGHT

Perseverance grows when we accept the particular course before us instead of competing with another person’s calling.

REFLECTION

Whose pace or progress has distracted you?

What belongs to your portion of the race today?

PRAYER

Jesus, turn my eyes from comparison and back to You. Give me endurance for the course before me and freedom from every race You did not assign. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Run your portion.

The neighboring lane is not your measure.
