MIDDAY BEARINGS 072: ENDURE THIS PORTION
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 072
SCRIPTURE
“rejoicing in hope, enduring in troubles, continuing steadfastly in prayer,”
Romans 12:12
DEVOTIONAL
Endurance becomes difficult when we imagine carrying the whole road at once.
Trouble enlarges itself by borrowing tomorrow’s weight. It asks you to survive conversations that have not happened and consequences that have not arrived. Paul’s call to endurance meets you in the portion actually present.
What belongs to this hour? Perhaps one difficult task, one restrained response, or one honest request for help. Endurance does not require finishing the entire road by noon.
Carry this portion with God, then receive the next when it comes.
INSIGHT
Endurance grows possible when faithfulness is measured by the present portion rather than the imagined weight of the whole journey.
REFLECTION
What future weight have you added to today’s trouble?
What is the faithful portion directly before you?
PRAYER
Father, keep me inside the portion You have given. Strengthen me for what is present and release me from carrying tomorrow before it arrives. Amen.
BENEDICTION
Endure this portion.
Grace is measured for the hour you are in.
