MIDDAY BEARINGS 080: LET HELP REACH YOU

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2026 • PILGRIMAGE DAY 080

SCRIPTURE

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

Galatians 6:2 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL

It is often easier to offer help than to name our own need.

We can mistake silence for strength. We keep carrying because explaining the burden feels awkward, because others seem busy, or because we do not want to owe anyone anything. Yet a command to bear one another’s burdens includes people who need to be borne.

Choose a trustworthy person and speak specifically. Ask for the ride, the conversation, the shared task, or the prayer you actually need. Give them room to answer honestly rather than requiring them to guess.

Receiving help does not surrender your dignity. It lets love move in both directions. You remain responsible for what belongs to you, but you do not have to make isolation part of that responsibility.

INSIGHT

Mutual care requires the humility to receive as well as the willingness to give.

REFLECTION

What burden have you kept hidden from trustworthy people?

What clear request could you make today?

PRAYER

Father, give me humility to receive help. Lead me toward trustworthy support, and help me speak my need clearly without shame or pressure. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Let help reach you.

You belong among those who may be carried.
